Our final wine tasting of the year for the W&M Wine Society will be a Bordeaux Grand Cru Wine Tasting on Thursday, April 15 in the Reves Room at 7:30. The dress code for this event will be business casual.
As some of you know, the Grand Cru wines of Bordeaux in France are synonymous with quality, nobility, elegance, and of course have always fetched the highest prices in the wine world for hundreds of years. In a way, the great Châteaus of the Médoc in Bordeaux are the ‘royalty’ of the wine world. This is why we thought it would be a fitting way to end the W&M Wine Society’s inaugural year and for many of us, our final year of college.
This tasting will cost $25.00 for those who paid membership dues for the semester and $30.00 for all guests.
The list of wines that will be sampled for the tasting are the following:
2006 Château Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc, Cinquièmes Crus Classés
2005 Château Boyd-Cantenac, Margaux, Troisièmes Crus Classés
2004 Château Léoville-Barton, St Julien, Deuxième Crus Classés
2003 Château Langoa-Barton, St Julien, Troisièmes Crus Classés
1997 Château Léoville-Poyferré, St Julien, Deuxième Crus Classés
1998 Château Latour, Pauillac, Premier Crus Classés
I look forward to seeing you at this very special tasting. It is sure to be a remarkable evening.
